Yes. They all eventually go. Which is why I got a deeply discounted 2020 Equinox in March of 2021.

That’s unprecedented demand – though to be fair, Tesla is only asking for a $100 refundable deposit per reservation, which is not the strongest show of interest. But even if the actual order take rate ends up being relatively low, this is still extremely strong demand.

I think what this really represents is that it is just a bit more than just a casual interest in the thing as far as reservations go. It to me just shows more of a "genuinely interested" thing rather than a "Yeah I really gotta have it" sort of thing.
