Merchants Fleet has over 150,000 units under its management in North America, with many EVs already in its roster. A spokesperson for the company told TechCrunch that many of the company’s customers have reservations for future vehicles, such as the BrightDrop EV600, EV410, Ford F-150 Lightning and the Chevrolet electric Silverado

Nov 18 (Reuters) - General Motors Co's (GM.N) BrightDrop said on Thursday vehicle leasing firm Merchants Fleet plans to order 5,400 more of its delivery vans in a boost to the largest U.S. automaker's fledgling electric commercial vehicle business.

GM unveiled BrightDrop in January in a bid to grab a chunk of the growing electric delivery vehicle business to better compete with rival Ford Motor Co (F.N) and other companies such as Rivian Automotive Inc (RIVN.O). read more

I had forgotten about the FedEx - those were the one's made with batteries built at an LG plant, correct?
Not sure where the batteries are being made. I assume it is at the battery factory in Michigan that makes the Bolt batteries since that is where the Hummer EV batteries are being made until the Ultium factory in Ohio is ready.

GM is using Kuka which is a supplier in Michigan to build this first batch of vans then production moves to CAMI in Canada later in 2022.

My best friend is a carpenter. He is tired of towing a big trailer with is old RAM 1500. His next truck will be a EV van. Just hope GM will offer it for small business owners.

For those of you who have worries about range and autonomy : most of his contracts are well within a 25 miles radius of his house. He will have enough battery to get to his work place and to gather some materials at Lowe's or Home Depot.
