AMERICAN SUZUKI POSTS AN 18 PERCENT INCREASE IN APRIL 2004 SALES

BREA, Calif. (May 3, 2004) - Powered by an ambitious five-year growth plan and the successful introduction of its new Forenza premium compact and Verona midsize sedan, American Suzuki Motor Corporation (ASMC) sold 7,041 vehicles in April 2004, representing an 18 percent increase in sales compared to April 2003 and giving the expanding automaker its best April since 1987.

"We are encouraged by the record-breaking sales achieved this year," explained Koichi Suzuki, president of American Suzuki's Automotive Operations. "The Verona and Forenza are bringing new customers to Suzuki and increasing awareness of Suzuki's products in the marketplace. We are certain that sales will continue to rise as we complete the necessary steps to reach our goal of tripling U.S. sales by 2007."

Indeed good news for Suzuki - who would have thought that the failure of Daewoo in the US would have given birth to a bigger product lineup and success for Suzuki?

Hmm, I intended this for the Holden/Saab/Fiat news section. Could you put it here?

The Forenza and Verona are pretty good but that Aerio is a weird looking thing with that eighties ribbon strip dash that is so out of touch with today! Not sure if it is selling well either.

Nope, the Aerio isn't selling great. Thankfully, it gets a new interior for 2005.

Here's what our 2005 Aerio is supposed to look like (the interior is from the Japan Aerio, which received a new interior fir 2004. Basically, it uses the XL7 shifter, steering wheel, and A/C buttons.

I like it... :D

With the new interior the Arieo is becoming a VERY slick car. They need to do a turbocharged, AWD version to take on Mitsu' and Subaru!
