Nice. It looks good in black. I noticed they added an amber taillamp. I do like that headlight configuration better than the concept. Looks more contemporary.

Looks like a heavy car. In that first vid from the 'Ring it looks like the driver came into the corner a little hot and got some understeer. I wonder what tires they are running? A more agressive tire can be good for several seconds at most tracks.

Nice exhaust note though. The Camaro alway seems to have a more raw exhaust note. My '02 Z28 sounded more raw than a Vette.

I'd still like to see a version the camaro come out with the 3.5L value V6, and a six speed. that woud help cafe numbers alot. I think they are trying to bring this car to market so that it can be easily moved to take over the vettes location, and then create a Corvette "brand" and use the cobalt as the low end hi-po car. (which would work for me, if it at least would have awd, I dont want a FWD performance car... i've driven RWD and it was on a 20 year old car and loved it..)

Either way, the car looks good and sounds good. I am skeptical how well it will sell past the first 2 years. GM has let us see it way to much.. I almost expect a complete body restyling for the 2013-14 time frame.. (maybe a Bird will hatch in the meantime.. pun intended.)

Will the production car have amber turn signals or red? I'm hoping red. And are those the production headlights? They aren't the ones from the concept.

Either way Im sure Scott S and the Camaro team are making it simple to change to a red one. No they are not production headlights, they are off the shelf generic parts so they can have it road going.

I've seen this video before, but it's sure is nice to see it again. I love the sound
this V8 version makes while accelerating. Makes me want one along with a
C6 Corvette. Just a bit beyond the budget here in Scandinavia for me.
Doesn't hurt to dream though, does it?

We export that thing to Japan? That's gotta leave a mark.
Yea. It looks like it's the only Chevy product that is on Chevrolet Japan's home page:

http://www.chevrolet.co.jp/

The base-level LT has an MSRP of a mere 3,769,500 yen. That's about $35k USD. Chevy Japan previously sold the Astro van there, too. It was pretty popular there - they even had a limited edition the last year it was produced (2005, I think).

OK!! I'm starting to dig the headlamps. Actually, the big round lights on the concept look too dated. The car has to have a more "Techy" look to it in order to attract the young and wealthy buyers that are more interested in German performance. The G8 is a good example of a car with Motor City muscle without the "Detroit Iron" look.
The smaller headlamps, I call "Spyder Eyes", enable you to pay more attention to the muscular body without focusing on two large headlamps that dominate the previous concept's persona.
I guess I'm trying to say we really don't need another Mustang. I won't be suprised to see the next Mustang sporting smaller headlamps and a sleeker front end.
I've heard all the stories about the production headlamps, but I really think GM has these headlamps in the plan. Furthermore, The cost benifits can't be ignored. GM can change the light bezels to fit the styling of any vehicle and use the same headlamps. Does the next Cobalt really need another set of huge headlamps? Maybe some really cool styling can be explored with smaller lamps and more body surface area.
