Following on the heels of spy shots taken earlier this month, spy photographers have once again spotted a prototype for the redesigned Chevrolet Cobalt. These camouflaged prototypes are the first hint as to what the 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt will look like! Based on what was once called the Delta 2 platform, the all-new Cobalt will ride on GM’s Global Compact Vehicle Architecture.

I'm hopeing that's the Daewoo version as I hate the wheels, and the grille doesn't look like Chevy's new face, regarless of what LLN says. I still think this is a miss style-wise. I had hoped for more. I know it's in a different class, but Ford's Fiesta looks soooo much better than this!! As Simon says....Sorry!

It's got that silly fake C-pillar window / panel type thing that we all hate so much on the Sebring. Otherwise it's a pretty simple, clean design... just as the Cobalt was when it came out. You know, the Cobalt that didn't really catch on and knock Corolla and Civic of their pedestals. If at first you don't succeed... do the same thing over again?

Why not? It's worked well for GM in the past...

it might be the Daewoo version, notice the tape covering the badge is in a circular shape instead of the usual bow tie shape. Also i highly doubt GM will remove this much clothing this early in the testing stages. especially when compared to the first "confirmed' shots of the cobalt that were posted earlier this month. the lacrosse mules I shot recently were still wearing plenty of camo and its been how long since the first tests began.

All Chevy's got to do, with current gas prices, is a decent facelift and sales should be great. Ford did a nice facelift on the Focus. Critics pretty much ripped it because it was the same old car underneath, but it's flying off the lots.

Is it? I've maybe seen TWO new ones, and they were both rentals around here. :fall:

Why do I get the idea that the next Cobalt will be a Korean made car? Hope the folks in Lordstown are not next.
Lordstown has been guaranteed product for the next several years, but I believe it will not be the Cobalt/G5.

I guess you don't pay attention to sales numbers much, huh? Focus sales are way up. It is in third place in its class (behind Civic and Corolla).

From autochannel - as of April '08 (note that Honda sales are excluded)

Uhhh... that picture is not new. It's been around for a while.
I was thinking the same thing. I may have today's date on it, but seems like a previously seen picture to me. Especially in Daewoo guise -- all the newer pics are of the Chevy version.

I'm not sure what all the complaining is about. This look like it will end up 100 times better looking than the current Cobalt over all. Seems it will have a very refined look like the Malibu when it's all done in shiny showroom floor paint rather than the drab zebra taped look also. I am always totally confused at everyones lack of imagination at looking through these disguised prototypes.
