I agree 100%...I'm really tired of the massive freight truck grille. Sure it needs to be big enough to provide air flow for cooling, but please tone it down just a bit. With that in mind, I do think the current Silverado 1500 looks great so please don't f**k it up.
I still think the 2016-2018 Silverado was the best looking truck they've made in a long time. While I don't mind the new 2019+ styling (I had a 2018, then 2019 Sierra, now driving a Ram, just because the pricing was a bit better in my area), I still think the 2016-2018 styling was the best look GM has had. I love the look of them and wish they had kept that front end styling, with maybe some changes to the rest of the exterior. While a 2016 Ram is starting to look pretty dated today, the 2016 Silverado still look very "modern", and if someone who didn't know the vehicles were to look at that, that styling would still fit in with a new vehicle in 2025, in my opinion.

I do like the look of the Trail Boss, but I don't care for the whole front end look of the 2019+ Silverado that much, that is why I bought a Sierra instead back then. I especially think the Sierra HD is a much better looking truck than the Silverado HD from the front.

I imagine shortly after this new 1500 platform is released, GM will be releasing a new 2500/3500 the following year to better match the new 1500 lineup, they always seem to be 1 year behind with the HDs.

• I can turn the cargo lights on while driving with a push of a button on my '21.
• Bumper steps work just fine with my 10 H steel toes. However, I WOULD like to see the bedside step from the 2500's on the 1500s. Can't reach small things over the bed sides from the ground.
• Never remotely understood the owners who want their vehicle to idle & idle & idle. I for one never leave it running and never use remote start. I just don't see the point of it.
My 2023 is unable to turn on the cargo light while driving. It's so safe the truck shuts off if you open the hood while it's running. No joke

Sleep in your truck in sub-zero temps on a regular basis, or make food or coffee or basically spend any amount of time in your truck and you will understand why owners would want to idle & idle & idle. . . . . . .

You must be the only one that can turn the cargo lights on while driving. Haven’t seen any other truck be able to do that unless it has been modified or BCM tuning.

I am with Crusher on this one, zero reason to idle in any vehicle! If its cold get a blanket or sleeping bag. If you have a dog in the car then maybe just maybe leave the dog at home! I never let the engine just idle, its the worst thing you can possibly do to a engine.

Ok, so when you suffocate from no fresh air then what do you do? And when all your water and food is frozen solid what do you do? When it’s -40° and your truck won’t start because you can’t have it plugged in and you are in the middle of nowhere, what do you do? There may be zero reasons for YOU to idle a vehicle, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t reasons for other people to idle a vehicle.

For someone that must be around 70 years old, you sure don’t seem to have a lot of common sense, understanding, or logic.

I am 52 thank you, I never said you cant start the truck up! Leaving it running for hours is something that shouldnt happen. Its takes hours for a hot engine to be stone cold! As for your food, its called Ice chest or heat bags to keep things warm! You are way over thinking this!

Fair enough ~ I'm not in anywhere near that cold of a climate- central eastern seaboard- lowest we saw this winter was high single digits (F) overnight. I did sleep in my prior truck overnight: crew cab, back seat folded, sleeping bag in October. Prolly in the upper 30s. I did not start it up overnight, despite that I kept waking up because I couldn't get totally comfortable.

That said- I also frequently get into my truck in temps down to the low 20s and I never remote start it first.

So you’ve been building your ‘72 for over 50 years, but you’re 52 years old. Your credibility continues to diminish.

If it’s in the 30s I leave a window open and use a light blanket. I regularly use quilts and a good sleeping bag, but when it gets into the sub zero temps it gets uncomfortable. It’s different when I’m winter camping, but when sleeping in the truck I don’t want to layer up and deal with it. And when my water freezes and I have to thaw it out before making coffee in the morning, that gets irritating. I will keep water in the cooler, but it will still freeze. And im not going to pay for heat bags to keep my cooler warm lol. (I know you didn’t suggest that). When you are on the road and have to pull over instantly and are stuck there for a day or more it’s about survival. I don’t like idling my truck, but when I need to, I want to be able to.

You are not very bright are you? Maybe you should ask questions before you asume!!! Yes I am 52 as of Feb, the truck was built in 1970 and my parents purchased the truck when I was 5 days old in 1973!!! I will add a picture so you can see it! My credibility is exactly where it needs to be. Yours on the other hand is non existent!!!

I don't let my vehicle run for hours when its cold, just 5 minutes or so in the morning to warm it up or a few minutes if I have to wait on someone that runs into a store. When its gets super cold its pretty much mandatory to warm it up a few minutes. Of course I've seen some let it warm 30 minutes which is nuts imo.
