Good to see that Chevy is not planning on ignoring the competition now that Ford and Dodge will both have small diesels. Let's just hope the demand is there and Chevy remains the leader in fuel efficiency!

It'll be interesting to see how much torque management is used in this truck!!

Very exciting, I am interested to see what it can do and the mpg numbers. If it isn't priced too high (which it may be) then this is a viable option for anyone.

25% increase over the current Silvy's 20mpg is only 25mpg. But that is with the 4spd auto. But compensate for the HD frame and pretty much manitory Ext Cab, Reg Bed combo, and 25mpg is what is expected.
It would be nice to see it in RCSB.

25 MPG would only be about 1 MPG less than what I averaged in the 2004 and 2005 Malibus I owned several years ago. So yes, it is quite exciting :)

GM is planning on making only about 70k of theses per year. This is not going to be a big volume engine; unless they decide otherwise.

However, I was also informed of a V6 version of the same engine coming soon as well. This is not the same as the 2.9L.

As long as the premium over a gas V8 model isn't too much higher.....

With mpg savings at about 25% and diesel fuel about 20% higher than gasoline - it is a better option - but it would take time to recoup the savings.

Put the diesel in a 1/2ton short bed, non HD and I'll buy one in a heartbeat.
Exactly.

I think I'm gonna seriously have to see if I can get one of the first to show up in a 'yard - you can ' fit and apply' to just so many things.

I think I hear a Buick Roadmaster calling my name somewhere........ the possibilities are really endless.

I gotta' talk to Eaton53 'bout this - maybe retrofittin' something real big ..... and buy able at pennies on the pound .........
