at least the Firehawk is revived for a RWD model unlike the Charger in the 1980s

now, if Pontiac gets a small RWD Alpha-based car, I won't be surprised to see SLP slapping the Firehawk name for it as well

Oh well, its their name they can do what they want with it. It doesn't make much sense, but whatever. I kind of wish GM would sell SLP all Firebird rights so SLP could build one and market it as such.

I am one of the die-hard Firebird fan and I am pissed off as well. Since I hated the G8 to begin with since it's NOT an American car, Firehawk on G8 is really a stupid move by SLP. Firehawk name only fits on the firebird, well, at least to me.

Well I guess the 4th-gen F-body was a (North) American car, considering they were built in Canada.

It doesn't matter that its not a Firebird, SLP will make a beast. I currently run an entire SLP exhaust set up on my GT Stang, a very high quality product, can't wait to see this new Firehawk.

It may not be American built, but it is certianly the most American type car GM offers. A big RWD Sedan with a bigger V8.

I'm just happy that someone cares enough or have enough nerve try to do something that GM won't. If I can't have a Firebird, a G8 based new Firehawk is an excellent second choice!!!

not sure if i like the name for this particular platform. Sure I see '....hawk' for a firebird as there is a 'bird' correlation. But Firehawk for a G8? New name please.

Just do it and we'll worry about the name later. You knew SLP had to find something to do since the Camaro SS was gone. Now what will they do to the new SS ?? And better yet what will GMMG do with the Camaro ???
Just more reasons to be glad it's back.
