Hey All
Is anyone else having trouble will the serpentine belt on the duramax. I have a 05 and about every 30,000 miles the belt starts chattering and must be changed or it will drive you nuts.

#1. Where are you getting your belts?

#2. I see one TSB #08-06-01-008 regarding drive belt noise, accelerated wear, and drive belt slippage. It involves using a laser alignment tool to check the alignment of the pulleys.

Good luck.

Get yourself a "GoodYear Gatorback" belt. They have serrations on the backside that keep the belt very quite. I bought mine at Advance Auto.

This is very common on some GM engines. Damp morning start-ups being the worst.

A belt's life expectancy is only 4 years or 40,000 miles believe it or not. But it would be a good idea to check the alignment of the pullies.
