You heard it here at GMI first.
Over the next 3 years, Toyota will work on bringing Scion to Canada.
Not all Toyota franchises will be Scion franchises.
Not sure if all models will be coming north.
Stay tuned for more info as it's received.

Hey look at that, when gas is expensive (we still pay over $5/gallon) Toyota thinks small cars will sell. Stupid Toyota, GM knows that nobody wants small vehicles.... as evidenced by truck sales being so...high...:lmao:

Because they have to supplement slow sales in the US.

Before you ask...yes, they do suck that badly...selling slow even with $5.00/gallon gas in the US. But at least it's small, cheap, and gets reasonable gas mileage.

It's about time. Scion will be a big seller up here in Canada. Canadians are practical buyers and prefer smaller, inexpensive cars and Scion will fit in perfectly.

I remember seeing the Xb for the first time about 5 years ago while in the US on a university field course. I thought they were so cool and started doing a lot of research online. Over the last the 3 years folks began to import them into Canada. I looked at one at a Toyota used car dealership and liked it but they wanted almost $30,000 for it. The salesperson said they had imported three Xb's prior to that one and they within hours of being put on the lot.

Sorry to hear that.

In the U.S., we've have gotten past the initial "ew" and just treat them like any other generic vehicle; ignore it.

I don't see why this should really be a front page article. I mean, it's just Daihatsu...pardon, Scion we're talking about. Has it been 'that' slow of a news week we fill the front page with pork?

OMG!!! First a bicycle when I was 10 and now this!!! This is such wonderful news. Thank you Mr GMI toyota mod for the news everyone on this forum waits for.
Don't open up that can of worms again. All hell breaks loose when someone challenges the Toyota GMI moderator. Hell just ask Plane, he'll tell ya all about it.

How do you figure $5? Gas here in Ottawa is 95 cents. There are ~3.8 litres per US gallon. Thus, the price for a US gallon of gas in Canadian funds is $3.61. Taking into account the current exchange rate, that makes it $3.07. Not even close to $5!

If the Canadian people want to throw away their money on yet more Japanese trash, that's their business. I just don't want to meet any more Canucks maintaining an intellectual or moral advantage over the US. If they're on their knees and into the Japanese trough like so many truly stupid and consequently indiscrimate Americans (who nevertheless whine about their genetically-inbred patriotism), they deserve to be screwed by the Japanese and their gawky, cheaply made, tawdrily finished appliances.

I've seen plenty of them since I live in a border town. There are even a couple of xBs with Ontario plates running around. The originals were quirky and odd, but cool in ther own way, I guess (not for me) but the new xB is just weird. It lost its coolness. The xA was stupid looking, and the xD is just as stupid looking, but bigger. The tC was a decent little car from what I saw and what I've read about it. Considering Canada's love of small inexpensive cars, I think it was a mistake for Toyota now to bring them here when they launched. This might be too late...we'll see. I bet Toronto will be full of them in no time, of course.

if the Chevy Uplander can sell well in Canada then i think the Scion brand has a chance.
Was the Uplander a hit? I thought it was the SV6, they still sell it here. Same ****, different pile, I guess.
