Sorry to ask so many questions.

Any ignition/ECM mods?

Where did you get the ignition module?

If the code in the flashing light is for the security system, it is shutting the fuel pump down, so it only cranks when you put fuel in the throttle.

This sounds a lot like a porblem that I just helped a friend figure out with a Chevy Tracker. You might want to check the throttle position sensor. If you have a manual it should show what to test for, you will need an ohm meter.

Just so you know if you have a 4 cyl it's the 2.5, if you have a 6 cyl it's either the 2.8 or 4.3.

Next time it won't start check for spark right away. Just pull off a boot and ground it on the manifold and look for spark. Also, check for fuel. Take off the air cleaner and look down the throttle body and see if any fuel is dumping out the injectors. You'll need a helper though.

This will narrow things down.
