The five story atrium at GM's Renaissance Center in Detroit is the home of a few of its best race cars this week, as GM ramps up to the Belle Isle Grand Prix.

The display is in GM World will feature both classics and modern racers, along with LED screens to provide information about the cars. In total, 13 cars and some other paraphernalia will be there to celebrate the automaker's storied motorsport history.

The display opens this week, ahead of the Grand Prix, which is on June 1.
