Hi there I am planning to drain and fill my rear differential on my 2000 gmc sierra 1500 4x4. It is the newer body style with 3.73 gears. I know it has a tag on the side of the diff that says fill to 15-40 mm below fill plug with 75w90 synthetic gear oil. How much oil would I need to buy to do a proper drain/fill service?
Thanks

roughly 2 bottles of synthetic 75w 90. make sure its synthetic, it has a posi unit it needs synthetic fluid. especially if it has the tag on it.

depending on if your doing a complete service, you may want to get 3 full bottles, just to be safe. but on average it seems about 2 bottles will do.

fill it up, put your pinky in the hole, and feel for fluid, if you can feel fluid, then your good to go.
