Personally I'm not a fan of this, but if it helps JLR prosper then so be it.

Keep up Car Magazine, this was reported nearly 3 months ago - http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/scoop/range-rover-evoque-cabriolet-caught-test.

It's not my idea of a sensible car but it'll sell well which is good for my local economy.

These are new close up pictures, so that is enough of an excuse for them to run it as something new. Magazines have to fill column inches, so if there is barely a smidgen of new info they'll present it as a whole new article.
I can see this car being pretty popular in California!
Obviously this failed miserably for Nissan, but I would be interested to see how the "upmarket" welcomes (or doesn't) this.

Evoque concept vehicles were ridiculed when they were first spotted, but have created their own niche - I've no idea whether this will be a huge hit or big flop, but it's "only" add-on development costs

Well, the CrossCabriolet seemed to me to be overpriced at $42,000. Evoque Coupe starts at $45,000, so Evoque Cabrio could start at $48,000 and have a better name than a Nissan.

If done well and marketed accordingly (which Nissan never really did), it should be a welcome addition to the Evoque lineup.
I wonder if a cue? from Nissan might be appropriate? Been there, done that. Ain't there no more, so whatever.
Meh, its a tiny niche. I doubt its even worth it.
I don't personally care for it, but from a business perspective if this is going to work for anybody it will be Range Rover. This is an image vehicle that is being sold under an appropriately image-heavy badge.
What a wholly inappropriate, heartless, and classless comment.
Don't you have tea drinking lessons to teach?
Behave folks. Not even sure what spurred one of those comments as it had no bearing on the topic.

I like the Evoque, for the same reasons I like the BMW X6 - impractical but funky. The price is stupid in Australia - $60K for the base model up to $100K.

The soft top pushes it beyond my limits of impracticality though. I never really understood why soft-tops are so popular in the UK - why live with the reduced vision, increased noise and less well sealed interior for 350 days of the year so you can enjoy 15 odd days of sunshine ?

PS Rupert - I wrote this using my 'tongue in cheek' font - the UK has a number of things going for it including a viable motor industry :).

The vehicle is disgusting. I wish it nothing but harm.
Then you could have just said that.

It doesn't adequately convey my disgust.
Nothing ever does.
