GMInsidenews member Xeper sent us these two photos of the production Chevrolet Camaro's auxiliary gauges. The gauges reflect back on the 1960's Camaros and were shown on the concept car. Thus far we have only seen interior photos of the production car that are rendered by GM.

As noticable from the photos, the gauges include: transmission temperature, volt meter, oil temperature and oil pressure. The production gauges appear to be formed from a satin silver plastic.

Xeper also reports that the gauges are already being shipped out for assembly. This likely indicates that pilot builds of the new Camaro are starting at the Oshawa assembly plant. Production of units that actual customers can purchase begins in January of 2009.

I'm sure many coffees will be spilled all over those gauges ;) I hope they tested them for that!

Does anybody know if the Camaro will have Navigation? The dashboard doesn't look suitable for that type of head unit.
I have photos of the production ready Camaro and the interior. I thought GM release plenty of photos of the production car? I don't understand the article in this post.

I love it when people take pics of things they're probably not supposed to. These sorts of threads seem to have such happy endings with someone getting walked off their job.
The Internet and sites like this drive so many people to do crazy things. Use to be a guy would snap a photo, get the film developed and then show off to his neighbors the newest tidbits of the popular cars. Now the Internet drives people to new heights to get the photo, which in this instance is just sort of "so what", and then they post it and get fame and fired!!!:lmao:

what about the torque gauge? Is this the gauge for the base model?
It's been stated there will be no torque guage. And afaik no 'base' model will have these guages. I believe you have to get the 2LT V6 and 2SS V8 for them.

Or something along those lines.

Ya I thought that would be a fun one to have. Although at the times it would be the most fun to see you should have your eyes on the road, but at least the passengers could watch it.
I'm glad its not there. It would have been too small and if they're going to provide something like that, I want that gauge front and center on my dashboard! Replace the speedometer or something. :D

What torque was this gauge supposed to read?

I have a torque gauge: my arse.
Not enough go forward? Change gears. That is, unless you drive an Auto, in which case the torque gauge is even more redundant.

IMO They already know the possible consequences for their actions. So if they take the pictures and post them up knowing they may lose their job, why should anyone have sympathy? No one forced them to do it.

I'm not trying to sound callous, I don't want anyone to lose their job. But they know it could happen...

Guages were seen before on the red V6 RS mule that has been running around. There was no torque guage there, and a bunch of enthusisast will see this car in a week with the same guages.

Trans Temp guage is awesome! Guage pod should be available on RS equiped models only i thought? I guess we will get come clearing up in a week.

How do we know these are not after market products? Why would GM leak this type of photo? We know some will did or can get fired for this, so why would someone risk their job over the photo. If this was taken with a cellphone, then their would be a alpha tag hiddren into the file of the picture as to the phone number of the device that took the pic and its esn or imei #. That is very tracable just like how color printers leave a series of small dots on printouts that include serial #, make/model and all of the printer.
