Easily, they were doing some of the best concepts, and when you first see them. you knew they were Pontiacs! They stopped dreaming.
I agree...to this day the last Banshee is one of my favorite concepts of all time...a shame they did not build it, just water down some of the design themes and apply them to the Firebird.

You Firebird folks will never give up...
It was Pontiac's signature and halo car...ever since it was killed Pontiac has meandered aimlessly with no sense of focus or identity or mission, hence lame rebadges like the G 3 and G 5 and G 8 and "Pontiac is Car" while then selling a trucklet that should have been a Chevy El Camino. Reviving the Firebird could save Pontiac.

A Pontiac Volt would be great...call it the Amp...call it the Megawatt...call it aunt Shirley...just build it to look like the concept Volt and not the production one...that is all I ask...I think that Pontiac fans would be happy with a car that was really great looking but not as aerodynamically perfect and hence would only go 30 miles on the electric charge before the ICE engine cuts in instead of the 40 all-electric miles the streamlined yet no so spiffy looking Volt can do.

i miss the old Pontiac design. i mean the one they always promised in the concepts. (Banshee, GTO, Rageous)
i guess now mazda is walking that path...
I woulnd't say Mazda is. I can't recall a concept of theirs I've liked. They're usually a little to out there and swoopy looking.

If Pontiac gets a Volt, it should be re-engineered to get the most performance as in real sportiness of the driveline. Give it good handling, maybe AWD. I'd even be for re-naming it Firebird...but they won't. They'll reskin it (at least, I hope) put a twin nostril grille on it and call it GV or GX or something all because the dealers will go
WE WANT ONE TOO!!!
