I was thumbing through an old Motor Trend from July of 1988. In it they mentioned a car Pontiac was developing called the silhouette which was all wheel drive and had engine collaboration with Porsche. It's believed that the car was canceled around the same time as the Fiero and was scheduled to share the same assembly plant. Anyone know anything about this car?

The Silhouette name got transferred to the Oldsmobile division as a minivan.
I have not heard of anything else planned on that platform, not have I ever heard of a GM collaboration with Porsche.

I've owned a fiero gt since 1988, havent heard about this. I do know that at one time GM planned to give Saturn a version of the fiero. Post the article here if you can, i would like to see it.

I found it in the July 1988 issue of Motor Trend

"Sources say the Silhouette, a developing all-wheel-drive car with engineering collaboration from Porsche, was cancelled along with the Pontiac Fiero. Why? The Silhouette program reportedly was scheduled for the Fiero assembly plant, now soo to close its doors"
