that right there makes his whole line of thought irrelevant. Anyone who thinks that a car sold on the other side of the world in any way competes in the US market as a "rebadge" is off his rocker.

I think he's just pissed off that Australian imports are destroying the US economy.

Personally, I'd prefer to drive a Holden over a Pontiac, that's why my GTO is becoming a Holden like it ought to be. You'd be surprised how hard it is to get Holden parts here.

Funny, thing is the "real" Pontiacs are pretty sorry compared to the G8. The only one I find somewhat interesting is the Solstice. One could argue they haven't made "real" Pontiacs since they quit making Pontiac V8s.

He's probably one of the people that hated the GTO because it:

a. didn't look like a GTO should (what is a GTO supposed to look like anyway?)

b. had a "Chevy" motor not a real Pontiac (GM needed to put the Poncho 455 back into production)

c. was a rebadge of a car you couldn't get in the Western Hemishpere

Idiot. People need to learn that Holden has some amazing vehicles. And they're still owned by GM. The door sticker reads: "Manufactured by GM Holden."
Sure, it's an import, but the profits go to GM.

FWIW, I love my GTO and if I had the money and lived somewhere it didn't snow 5 months out of the year I'd most likely have a G8 GXP next to it in the garage.

The G8 is the best Pontiac since 2002. The rearend could use some design changes to make it less boring, but otherwise I really like the car.

His alias is 'Grandam1999' so it seems he's a "Pontiac guy". I viewed a few of his other videos. He has several from the 2008 NYIAS. Odd that this is the only video where he provides verbal and audible comments. He even didn't provide verbal input on the Solstice coupe. So I would say he is a disgruntled "Pontiac guy" who dosen't like the idea of Holden making products for Pontiac.

I now like the G8. It's grown on me.

I would just take this with a grain of salt. I believe he's in the minority. Even import fans appreciate the G8.
