A Polish TV crew that was returning back to Warsaw got the story (and the fright…) of their life when their Volvo V40 was involved in a roll over accident near the town of Dziecinów. According to one of the guys involved in the accident, in an attempt to avoid a collision with a green Seat Ibiza that blocked their way, the driver of the Volvo lost control of the car and rolled over into a ditch.

Hmmmm It is odd that the side curtain airbags didn't go off. If you look it up, they seem to have quite the array of airbags in the vehicle. I don't know if they have different options/more basic models in Europe, but I would think that the side curtain airbags should have gone off.

I feel sorry for the poor guy driving. It looks like he hit his head pretty hard several times.

Yes. After getting a face full of glass.
As anyone would - airbag or not, GM or not.

The point is they walked away and didn't look to even have a cut on them. Even rolling over 1 or 2 times. The car, from the inside, just looks like one of those 4-door coupes - barely pushed down at all. That is a very safe vehicle - they're lucky they weren't crushed or severely injured.

The Volvo V40 is a pretty old car with quite a few variants.

I wouldn't be surprised if the crew was driving some sort of older Euro version that did not have side curtain bags.

Hey, the guys walked out of the car.

I am also surprised that nothing happened to them because we can see that the their heads hit the inside of the car a few times. They should also thank God their car didn't meet a tree because trees near roads are very common here and many people die after hitting a tree (even 10 stars in crash-safety tests and hundred air-bags don't help in that kind of cases).
