Anyone have a translator?

Is this funny? Is it anything?

directly translated (using an online translator) i got:

"progressive construction, careful präezisionsarbeit and completed shaping made the opel car in the whole world popular."

"präezision" means precision, but "sarbeit" doesn't appear to mean anything on its own. but at least we get the idea now!

oh, and "Opel der Zuverlässige" means "opel the reliable one"!

The excitement NEVER ENDS! :zippy:
This was Oldsmobiles version of the Monza, built from 1975-1980. In 1978-1979, Chevy's 305 was available with an automatic or 4-speed manual. Fairly zippy stuff in it's day.

You are right about the torque arm rear suspension, and road tests pegged it as the best behaved live-axle you could get in an American car.

With the V8, they weighed about 3200 lbs., and were restricted to 13-inch wheels from the factory.

"you'll get more than any other car in its class"

In those days, Saab could make this claim without the GM Asterisk.

The one that says "not including other GM vehicles"

:p

STOP THE MADNESS!! :rudolph: :plasma:

These types like that Sunbird/Monza/Starfire make was just horrible!

I had a 1980 sunbird similar in make to that Starfire. Dang thing nearly shook itself apart tryin' to top-out at a whopping 85mph...going downhill! Fun for a time...but never really reliable nor was I proud to have driven it. Considering most of my friends were driving really good cars back in the HS days. :p
