Yes, that is right. Nsap has a FORD product on order. :D

Actually, it was my parent's idea. They were wanting a good gas mileage car to drive around town in the evenings, etc instead of driving Mom's CTS or Dad's Silverado. It just so happens that 3 days a week this fall I will be commuting ~65 Miles a day. So long story short...they said we could share the car as when I will be driving it and when they want it do not collide.

Today I spent about two hours haggling at the Ford dealership (great place, we know most of the guys personally) and I came to terms with them so I pulled the trigger.

What we're getting:

2009 Focus SEL Sedan
Sterling Gray Metallic
Black Leather Interior

*Heated seats
*Sirius Radio
*SYNC
*Moonroof
*Audiophile Sound System
*6-disc changer with MP3 playback
*Remote start
*Automatic transmission
*All weather floor mats

I'm surprisingly excited over it!! I am glad I will be paying for gas on a 33-35 MPG car rather than a 24-26 MPG car. This also may allow me to trade the G6 off sooner as I was not wanting to commute in a G8 GT.:D

Now hopefully Ford gets with it and builds my Focus!

I thought there was only the S, SE, SES models for the Focus?
For 2009 they added the SEL Sedan. It has most of what I listed standard (heated leather, SYNC, Sirius, etc.). Plus it has better wheels...those 16" rims on the 2008 SES are UGLY. There was also no chance in hell of finding a 2008 SES with everything we wanted, in the color we wanted.

Congrats, I hope GM can respond to SYNC in the near future. Mainly by 2012/2013 when I make my next purchase.

My uncle just bought a focus to drive around during the week to work and right off the showroom floor he got 35mpg without breaking a sweat.

Its a pretty good looking car in person and rides well, you'll be happy with it.

^ I agree. What was it about the Cobalt that steered you away from GM?

Nonetheless, I'm happy that you're getting a decent car with good mpg numbers. It should do you well and I look forward to your reviews of it after a few miles logged.

Congratulations! I've seen the Focus and it looks great in person. Very competitive car, there is a reason why it's selling so well. :yup:

Don't get me wrong, the Cobalt is a good small car (especially the 2009), but the content on the Focus is superior...as is the drive. The Focus feels more solid than the Cobalt.

I should also add...I think my family needed a small break from GM buying after the Equinox disaster. That left a bitter taste with us and it is only starting to go away.:(

I would definitely buy a Focus over the Cobalt. I know new designers think having little to no headroom looks cool but it doesn't work with buying public. It gets tiring having a low car that makes ingress/egress difficult.

I find it amazing that 1 vehicle can do that much damage to a brand. I guess that's partly the reason for GM's current market share!!
It wasn't just one vehicle...my family had to lemon law a 2001 Silverado back in the day. We disregarded that and continued on, but the Equinox (arguably worse than the Silverado was!) was the final straw for our family's GM-only buying.

Considering the cobalt is an inferior car to the focus by far, I can't see how it could be the more Prudent choice to own a cobalt ;) Until the new cobalt comes, it's the near bottom of the barrel in compacts... Unless of course you buy the SS but i doubt his parents would want one

Ford is American guys! He didn't buy a Toyota! I'm a GM fan for sure, but also on my consideration list are other American made and branded vehicles.

Congrats, And thank you for buying American, How long is it going to take to get to you? Just asking since I know they are having trouble keeping up with demand
Yeah, they're cranking out a ton of them! I've seen them all over. Usually if a car isn't selling like crazy they can get it to you in not too long.
