The pictures look pretty good. It is what it is - a nicely done rebadge. I hope that Pontiac can eventually get a unique vehicle.

Some nice pictures though.

Wait, I thought the official site launched two years ago here:

That was good -- very well put! :-D

I see from the actual G5 site though, that they are offering a number of accessories for the car. I know from an article I read awhile back that Pontiac was kind of going the "Scion-route" with a bunch of factory available stuff -- like gas-struts for the hood? Kinda weird but appreciated (the gas struts should be standard fare by now anyway.

I like the 3 spoke steering wheel on the interior though.

Well, it got the new corporate radio, the new corporate wheel, the Kappa gauges, and some different rims. It looks like it also got heated seats which are nice...

The GT with the 2.4L should be the base model, and the 2.0SC should be in the GT. There is absolutely nothing sporty about the 2.2L Ecotech. Be prepared to reread all of the complaints that where written about it when they reviewed the Ion and the Cobalt.

it sucks, that picture isn't evenn new. we modified it in a weekly contest way back when. rebadges are stupid unless done well or made global. this seems to be neither.
So does that mean the Tahoe and Yukons are stupid rebadges? No one ever seems to complain about them. Don't get me wrong I think they both look awesome but how is it any different with the Cobalt and G5?

They have much different sheet metal. There are very few differences on the exterior betweent the Cobalt and the G5. The interior is what should have been in the Cobalt on launch.

I like the steering wheel but the grill and tail light i don't like so much could of been done better. I didn't see a Sedan im happy there not doing it. They should do a hatch or extened coupe wit suicide's. The should of done projectors on this car and eye lids and darker tails or rounder but not the cobalt sedan lights or G6 same differance. Should sell good but will take away from Cobalt. I hope the GXP version is Turbo'd

They are actually serious about this car. I guess it does make some sort of sense in light of the sky- high gas prices. Still, GM could have done a lot more to make this car look like a proper Pontiac. This have could have also bought them more time before a proper replacement is ready because the Chevy Cobalt is already looking dated.

I really don't have a problem with this as a quick fix. It's fairly apparent that GM doesn't want this to be the modus operandi anymore, but they also failed to create a small car for Pontiac. There's one in the pipeline now but it's a few years away, so they rebadged and limited it to the coupe. The Pontiac gets the Aux input jack and a different front and back end. I'd buy the GT coupe of the Chevy SS coupe right now. This gives the GMC/Pontiac/Buick dealers something good for under $20K. The Solstice isn't really under $20K with any equipment and the barebones G6 is just that.

Said the great Bob Lutz:

"The interior is fairly different."

Now, I like Bob, but the only real differences are the guage faces, steering wheel, and the ubiquitous corporate radio. Just how different is "fairly different" I wonder...
