B) Anyone know what GM may be showasing in NYC, other than the STS and the 9-7 X?
Is the HHR going to be released there or Chicago??? Also, excuse my ignorance but whats the Allure??
Allure is the possible new name of the Lacrosse, the new Buick version of the Grand Prix.
Lacrosse can't be used in Canada as it means masterbation in Quebec french slang.
Allure could be the Canada only name, or could be for all of North America.
Nothing offical has been publicized on the subject just yet.
I hope they use Allure in Canada only, I just dont like the name it doesnt feel right. Give us the LaCrosse! and really will the fact the it means to masterbate really hurt sales that much?? I rather have a car that meant masterbate than a Nova which meant doesnt run(?) like they did in mexico.
Introducing the new Buick Masterbate! :roflmao:
Masturbate, Allure, LaCrosse....ugh...next we'll have the Buick Cunnilingus

Rainier, now that was a good name. All the other French sounding names are just....dated, in my opinion, just like the old GrandVille or Beaumont names or something from the 1960's - 70's.

I guess I prefer my car names NOT end in a vowel, if possible.

If it has to sound French (or pseudo european), at least temper it with a bit of machismo:

cor·vette P Pronunciation Key (kôr-vt)
n.
A fast, lightly armed warship, smaller than a destroyer, often armed for antisubmarine operations

Allure says "chick car", or new perfume fragrance.

How about Buick Bardiche?

They won't do it but I hope somewhere down the road they bring back the name Cutlass. Olds is gone but what a great name for a car. Buick Cutlass, not bad.

I believe the C6 vert makes its US debut in NY.

The world unveiling of the vert is scheduled for Geneva in March.

I'm just happy that they are using names. I really don't like the new Cadillac naming standards. :(

It wasn't bad with the CTS, DTS, STS, since I know what name the first letter corresponds with. But XLR, XST, XTV, PVC, etc..... I don't know. Which one is the Escalade? Which is the Evoq?
I think Buick Allure is a better name than Lacrosse
I mean if Canadians came here they would see Lacrosse badging and be offended
GM would not want to JEOPARDIZE the future of such an important model for itself

ALLURE :D LACROSSE :(

9-2x, STS, 9-7x, Allure?
Yes, Cadillac STS will be there, a Buick Convertible concept will be there along with Saab's first SUV the 9-7X

Can't wait to see what's the Buick looks like :bounce:
Buick Vert? Haven't heard that one yet...

Well, most of us Canadians are english speaking and every french canadian I know tells me 'se crosser' means to masturbate, not LaCrosse. LaCrosse is one of our national sports and I think it makes a kick-*** name for a new Buick!

FOR GOD SAKES DON'T CALL THE CAR 'ALLURE'
