Nsap's Next Chapter

At age 13 a stumbled upon GMInsideNews.com. It wasn't long after the initial visit that I became hooked on this site, and visited every day. A few months later I was promoted to moderator, then in 2007 I became administrator of this site. To say my time here has been life-changing is far from an exaggeration. It has opened doors for me, and more importantly, served as a conduit to life long friendships.

It is with hesitation that I announce I am resigning from my position at the site. As it stands today my day job is consuming much of my time (which is a good thing). Additionally I am working on finishing up my MBA, subsequently eating up more of my free time. In summary, for the first time in 12 years, I have judged a new life path as being more "right" than this one. Time will tell if it was the best decision, but my gut says it is.

Compounding matters is the fact that it really is the "end of an era" for GMI. I'm done fighting the corporate battle in an attempt to keep the vision those of us on the staff have alive. I have deeply believed our vision for this site was the right one, and in the areas we were able to execute that vision...it was successful. Unfortunately I know we will never get the chance to carryout that vision fully here due to the inherent differences between us and corporate.

I am not leaving the automotive industry, just moving on to my next chapter in it. In the next chapter, those of us with vision will be the ones driving the ship.

It has been nothing short of amazing to work with, collaborate, and get to know all of you over the years. I'm confident most of us will interact again over our shared love of this industry. More to come. ;)

Thank you for dedicating your time to the site. I hope that once you're done with you current commitments, you're able to find a new position in automotive journalism. You truly made my time here better.
I will give this advice; don't give up on forums. The type of forum that we all know and love is being pushed to the wayside by social media. We, as forum members, cannot let the format die. Ironically, I've made many more friends via traditional forums that I have via "social" media.

As I know a little of the work involved as moderators and administrators of internet forums, a very big thank you for your time and effort.

I 110% agree with you on that. Suffice to say forums have a place in my next project...

Is Nick the cat or the stuffed animal?

The stuffed animal, but realistically he's more of a cat.

In this scenario, I'm the cat.

Oh, that's cute :)
Excellent work on the evolution of the site! Sorry to hear that there is conflict on the direction of the site, though. I fear that doesn't bode well for the future.
