So, what's the difference between the Q45 & the M45? They're both full-size RWD sedans with the same engine and same horsepower (350hp I think). As far as I know, the M45 is the "musclecar with brains" according to Infiniti. So it's supposed to be sportier than the Q45? I don't get it. It would make more sense if the M45 had AWD and a supercharger or twin turbos, that would make a much more notable difference between the two.

M45 is a smaller package overall package.

Passenger room:
Q = 102.10 cu ft
M = 91 cu ft

Cargo room
Q = 13.7 cu ft
M = 12.6 cu ft

Not leaps and bounds different. But I think the Q45 is too big to exist in the Japan market.
The M45 is the popular car there (under the Nissan name). Since they're making it anyway, they decided to export some to the USA.

If you go to www.infiniti.com and click on the NYC Auto Show "Envision the Future" logo on the right, a flash movie begins to play. The last couple of pictures of the movie are the M35/45 and Q45 teaser photos.
