The latest look at the next-gen Chevrolet Equinox catches one running around the Milford Proving Grounds. This one wears sensors on the wheels and has lots of wiring on the body.
Compared to the current Equinox, the next-gen model looks more chiseled and has a more upright stance. It also looks a little bigger at least in physical stature. There are similarities to the latest Chevy Traverse.
I have high hopes for the designs of this new Equinox and the Traverse. GM hit a home run with the Trax and Colorado. Their designs are perfect for their segments. I hope they can keep the momentum going.
"Don't drivers like to be able to see?" "Who cares?"
"Let's put the headlights lower down and in deep sockets so more dirt and mud and dirty road spray can collect on them."
I think GM Management is very short sighted. With 2 mode and VOLTEC they had a great path to graduate customers to BEV. They just choose to say we compete with Tesla and going to have only BEVs which was foolish. An upgrade path was the best with having 2-3 hybrid offering ( ex: Silverado , Tahoe ,Equinox ,Traverse and Colorado ) and work on BEVs so people feel comfortable moving to BEV.
It will be interesting to see will they go back ( as per GM term ) and offer hybrids ...
Yeah, I thought they should have killed the 1.5T and made the 2.0T the only choice to keep it competitive. That engine is a screamer in the Equinox and makes it actually competitive with the Audi Q5 (performance-wise, NOT material/build quality).
