a member from another site has shared his info on what he heard from a friend on the inside.
this is what he said.

I just got off the phone with a buddy of mine who works in the V8 group at GM in Milford. This may be old information.

The SSR will be upgraded to a 380 hp LS2

Chevy will offer an "HHR" version of the SSR that will take styling cues from the 55-57 Chevy Nomad.

The C6 will get a 500 hp 7 liter LS7 engine in its second year of production. They are anticipating producing a 640 hp 8.75 liter V10 engine for the third year of production.

The Cadillac XLR will have a supercharched Northstar producing over 400 hp.

The rumor he has heard is that the Camaro (possibly not the Firebird) will be returning based on the Holden platform not the Sigma.

We're going drinking this weekend. I'll bring a pen so I can make more notes on the bar napkins
All of that seems to be really good news. This along with the info on the Buick is all really really really good fawking news. Im soo excited. Why do embargo days feel like Christmas?

OH YEAH! If this isn't bullbleep ask him about the future of the Nomad concept.
The man works for GM powertrain, but I will see if he can ask his friend about the Nomad.

He also talked about the 5.3 going into teh GP. Engine code number is LS4. He said that the engine package was for GP, Monte and Impalla. He said it was for mid year of 2005.

I doubt that it would be called the ls4.....that would mess up GM's engine naming scheme. my guess would probably be the same as a current 5.3 or something very close to that.
not if the 5.3 is made for car use, and not truck. Just like the 6.0 truck motor is diffrent then the 6.0 vette motor, they get different rpo engine codes. The 5.3 going in thoes cars would get a whole new design to be able to be mounted transversly.

GM is developing a V10, but I haven't heard that it will be going in the Vette. The 427 is in development for the Vette. GM is dropping production of the big block (496) and replacing it with a 7.5L V10, based off the 6.0L V8 small block.
That V10 stuff sounds cool. I also dont think they are gunna put it in the Vette.

I seen the 5.3 V8 a couple months ago in a GP GXP 2005 model, I wonder if this is what he was talking about?
yes, that is the same engine.
