On the '97 GMC Jimmy, for a few months now, windshield wipers would "stick" every once in a while. By stick I mean they would stop and a humming noise could be heard from the wiper motor. this would be a momentary thing and they would take off again. Yesterday, they stuck and stayed stuck. After a little tugging back and forth (and getting soaked) the arms "caught" and started again, only to wipe once and stop again with humming resumed.

I was planning to replace the wiper motor tomorrow, but wanted another opinion to make sure this was motor and not pulse board. With the humming, I thought the motor was sticking and was done. But didn't know if a faulty pulse board would cause this problem. Any thoughts? Thanks!

The wipers in my 98 Silverado have quit working everytime it rained for years, but a quick tap on the pulse board cover has always fixed it until a couple of days ago. After reading this thread I went and pulled the pulse board. After close inspection, I found a hairline crack in the solder joint closest to the connector. A little cleaning, a little solder, and the wipers work like a champ. Thanks for sharing your knowledge.

I have a 95 Chevrolet suburban k2500 I replaced the pulse board on my windshield wiper motor and worked when I tested it. Well a few days later I tried using it and they wouldn't engage. Even put a new fuse as well. Is there anything I'm missing somewhere? Thanks

11 year old thread, and the participants haven't logged into the site in years. You might consider
-making a new thread with your info and problem
-testing where you are getting power and ground, and perhaps check that everything is connected right.
