We're pretty excited about the upcoming Ford Taurus, which you can probably tell by the innumerable of threads we've posted about it. Most have been renderings of the car, and most recently what we believe it’s the actual car may look like.

honestly i keep hearing everyone saying " oh yeah the new taurus is amazing" blah blah, i think its still boring and uninspired just as this sable is just bland...

It's getting there. They really need to drop the Superman title, it's a bit embarrasing. Not only does it sound ridiculous for a run of the mill family cruiser but the monicer of Superman is jinxed.

Is this a Sable like the link shows or a Taurus like the first sentence of this thread says, or are we lucky enough to get a Superman Sable and a Superman Taurus.

The original Taurus and Sable were design breakthroughs that took America by storm and heavily influenced other cars for quite some time. While this new Taurus looks better than the current one, which is a tweaked and renamed 500, I don't think it is all that head turning. I loved the original Sable and hope the new one brings back that futuristic light bar vs. tweaking the Taurus a tad as seen in those renderings. Mercury needs fresh and UNIQUE products....maybe bring the new Mondeo here but with a light bar melded into that lovely front end.

The lightbar was cool. The fender skirts, not to much, but at least it was different from a Taurus

Ehh...the Sable should at least look somewhat unique and different than the Taurus...just changing the front fascia isn't going to cut it.

but we all know that is all Ford is going to do for now. Mercury is being starved, for those that think Pontiac or Buick is hungry, they should look at Mercury.

There hasnt been ANY word that a 2010 Sable is coming, I dunno about it or Mercurys car future- i think they are investing alot into Milan and Mariner for 2009 and 2010

OMG the TC!? you must like very classic styling

And I think Lincolns and cadillacs are sleek: Jeremy Clarkson said it best about the CTS though, "I think the designers were only allowed to use a ruler when designing this car"- Cadillacs are kinda blocky- but i think overall, this Sable really needs to be dramatically different over Superman Taurus and MKS
