Having ordered my 2009 Focus sedan before 2009 production even started (mine was built on the 3rd day of 2009 production :D), I kept up on 2009 Focus stuff. One thing that I learned while mine was on order is that Coupe production was started quite a bit later than the sedan.

Well, I see they are on dealership lots now. Note the new wheels, smoked headlights, smoked taillights, charcoal grille, revised bumpers, and spoiler.

Overall not bad. I don't like the spoiler, but other than that they are nice additions to the Coupe.

Thats like three inches. And I hate to tell you but cars from the 50's ***cough Belvedere cough*** had alot more
I know you're trying to be cute, but you failed. Oh, and it speaks poorly of you that you felt the need to attack my personal car when I aired a criticism of a current Ford product. It shows desperation.

The top of the '58 Plymouth's front tire is up and behind the lower lip of the fender. And the rear tire is covered to about a 1/4 of the way down. So you really don't know what you're talking about. There's no three inch gap, as you say. There's not even a 0 inch gap. In fact, it would be a negative number.

Cars back then had everything in proportion. The Focus coupe is a blobby, awkward mess of a car with an incongruous design theme and terrible proportions.

I await your sincerest apologies.

Ford "touted" that "No more than 25% of all Focus's would be made a Coupe" early in the 08 model launch. We still have the first 08 Focus we ordered in stock. an 08 SES Focus Coupe..

We have sold many "Sedans" but to a whole new demographic. "The widowed in retirement" single female.

Of the 12 something Focuses we have sold this year, 8 have been sold to +60 year old people. 5 have been fully loaded SES's, 0 have been 2 doors

side view ud see a 4 inch gap of the back part of the front wheel and that style died well 50 years ago
You're just not making sense.

We're talking about the gap from the top of the tire to the fender lip. That's the part that gives the car the racy, hunkered-down look.

You still didn't address the fact that you took my criticism of a Ford product so personally that you had to lash out at me and a car that's been out of production for 5 decades made by a brand that died 8 years ago. It was a low-blow, AND you were wrong about it.

Chrysler can't help what they designed 50 years ago. Ford can control what they're making today, and they obviously couldn't care any less about style.

Im not a huuuge fan of the Focus, the coupe doesnt have a very coupeish style to it. Its more of a 2 door sedan.

As for Buick's car, I think that comment about the fender gap turned this into a pwnd thread.
Obviously fender to tire gap has decreased a lot with modern cars, but Buick's car shows that there is actually negitive gap.

Um... Your right. That car is hideous and extremely poorly proportioned. I'll try to think of an uglier car in production these days, maybe the Sebring?, but this is just a shame.

Buick,
the only clear and obvious desperation is your tireless hatred and bashing for every single Ford product that exists.

Give it a rest.
You are as transparent as can be.
Just read and leave, without the constant harassment.

Apology my ass. You owe this whole forum a huge apology.

Dear blank disk:

The sedan looks fine.
Your argument holds no water, as those aren't the words of someone who has a "tireless hatred [btw, excessively strong use of words] and bashing for every single Ford product that exists."

Perhaps when you tone down the hyperbole, then maybe we can initiate an intelligent discourse.

Further, and finally, if someone attacks another person, and subsequently is proved wrong, then they should apologize--regardless if the person owed the apology has an alleged dislike for Ford products. One has nothing to do with the other. Otherwise, what you're suggesting is that we should all operate according to vengeance.

AKA the revenge mentality. Back to the subject at hand, for those that think the current focus is ugly keep in mind this is only a stopgap vehicle until the new focus comes here and as such styling is not really much of a priority with stopgap models like the current Focus. A good example of what I mean is the last gen olds cutlass AKA the "Cutlibu" which was virtually identical to the N bod Chevy Malibu and was a stop gap until the Alero came out. It wasn't much of a looker and it wasn't that different from the malibu but it did give olds a vehicle to sell for a few years until said alero was ready

The current Focus either w/2 or 4 doors is ugly, IMO.

This is the Focus that should not be.
