That's not even close to the G8's design and looks like a step backward. If bringing a Chevy SS right now would mean this car, then a couple year wait would be a good idea.

 

Actually, it looks like a Holden but I mean, if the silver parts next to the Chevy logo would be blackened out, it would look nice to me. That whole bow tie thing just blows to me. It can take a nice design like that and make it look like you're asking yourself "what's not right with this?". This kind of design I think looks better on the Chinese edition Buick Park Avenue. You see there how the Buick logo totally changes things.

 

I don't know what you all are on about. Aside from the signature chevy split grille, how is this different from the G8?

I don't know if people are clamouring for this car again, rather they want a distinctive-looking American Buick or Chevrolet instead.

The zeta rah rah isn't for the return of the Commodore. It's for the return of what GM used to do best: large RWD sedans.

Even though the design is blah, I'd strongly consider a civilian Caprice because I believe it's the closest thing to a true Chevrolet that GM has in its product portfolio. That said, it's still not ideal.

 

I think the overall look of the Lumina SS is far superior to that of the G8. A part of me always loathed the G8, with its hasty melange of boy-racer add-ons. The Commodore is hardly cutting edge design, but it its taut yet simplistic lines are pleasing to the eye - something that can be more readily appreciated by the Lumina SS' more restrained interpreation of 'sport' as opposed to the obnoxious swagger of the G8.

 

I like it. If it doesn't have the spoiler it's very boring to look at which is good.

 

Bring the car over to the States. We do not care if others do not like it

 

I think it's the Chev "bar" that ruins the front end for me

Now if someone with photoshop skills could remove that bar and have the bowtie simply floating in the middle just like the Holden lion i think it would look better

It could be teh colour as well - the blue is very nice in person but doesn not photograph well

For the life of me, I don't get Chevy naming a car 'Lumina.' Chevy Lumina. What a dumb name. It doesn't even begin with the letter 'C.' Haven't they got the name 'Chevelle' sitting around doing nothing?

 

The Lumina has no history in the ME prior to the Commodore nor do I think the Middle Eastern people care about car name history. Chevelle IMO is reaching and to me GM must be desperate to pull the name Chevelle from the heavens.

 

Doesn't look as good as the G8 but I still wish I could go to a Chevy dealer here and buy one. I recall seeing a few when i was in South Africa back in 2008.

 

I would be more than happy with that Lumina SS. Make mine white.
