After all my critisism of the new LaCrosse, I look at the new TL. While the new LaCrosse has been watered down from the concept to some degree, at least it looks like it's a somewhat luxurious car and that's what it's intentions are.

The new TL has got to be the most overwraught design I've seen in years! It's trying to hard to be.....I can't figure out what it's trying to be. The interior, while I like the seats, the dash looks to have cheap plastics and is over-styled also. Acura has taken some strange risks with it's new design direction, shield looking grilles and severe front wheel arch, which to me underlines the fact they are front wheel drive, but this TL is so over the top. Maybe it'll look good in person....

YIKE! Look at that nose! What is it with that massive triangular blade type badge thing on all the new Acuras?

I saw a new RL in a parking lot a couple weeks ago and took a real close look at it.

one word:
FAIL

The TL is a really unfortunate redesign. When my mom's Max was in the shop for some secheduled maintainance we got a TL loaner since our dealer is paired with Acura. Anyways the TL impressesd us so much it made the shortlist for when we replace the Max in 2010, but we just scratched it off.

That sets a new record for the ugliest car I have ever seen...

The test will be how long it takes Honda to fix it.

Ugh, I just saw a new TSX at the mall and was blown away by how ugly that thing is. Weird angles and bulges outside, button explosion and broad monotone swaths of grey and silver inside. I wonder if Acura's sales slide will continue with these overwrought excuses for high-tech design? How long will consumers blindly follow these brands before they say "Yeah, its a Honda and all, but its so ugly, lets look at something else" (ahem, CTS, cough). I know a couple Subaru fans that are none too pleased with the new Impreza and are talking about a different brand for their next car. Is this a clear opening for GM?

Well I can now take comfort in the fact that Chrysler (Sebring) and Buick (LaCrosse 2010) aren't the only ones who produce ugly rides. I thought Ford was being tacky too with their 'Gillette Razor Blade' grills......

A tip to Acura.....GS clones don't look good w/bottle openers on the front clip.....

It's beginning to appear that Honda - Acura may be developing a styling 'problem' in NA.

Thank goodness, given all their other momentum - both apparent and not so obvious - anything to slow these guys down.

We got Toyota/Lexus headed the right way, this might get more goin' for Honda/Acura..... now we need some 'news' for Nissan/Infiniti - and look out, here comes Hyundai / Kia.

Ugh it's bad coming and going and it seems to be inching closer to the RL especially since its top engine is more powerful than the Rl's. This can only mean that they have big plans for the next RL. 420 HP V8 and RWD are sounding pretty plausible right about now. Hopefully GM will have something to compete. An upgraded 9-5, Park Ave. and a DT7 are all needed as they luxury segment. It may not be pretty but it will sell. Oh and Infiniti is trying again with the Q so the next couple of years will be interesting.
