Screen Shot from 01/25/10 edition of Automotive News shows 49 new Saab 9-4x units were made week ended 01/23/10.

Total units produced thus far: 147.

Even more interesting: Cadillac SRX production for January is ZERO. Did the plant stop the SRX production to allow Job One for the Saab 9-4x?

Can anyone shed some light on this?

How could General Motors, while "winding down" Saab, allow 9-4x production to start?

If anyone at Automotive News is reading this, how accurate is your chart? Could this be an error?

It's Automotive News, it's a made up number.
Yeah, something is off, because for instance the SRX kept cranking in January for sure. Now they may have made early build/pilot 9-4X's, but who knows when, where, or how many...we'd have known more if the above was really the case, I'd think.

Probably engineering mules, a few cars for crash tests, and so on... not very important.

Anyone else read that a Spyker car was delivered to the Museum in Trollhättan? Rumour or setting the stage for an announcement regarding the sale of SAAB?

The fact that even pilot units were built (confirmed) is telling.
it does help shed some light granted the 9-4 x's that were built are most likely Mules or prototype stage vehicles (it's too early for CTF stage vehicles) but it does tell us that GM is at least willing to give saab a few new models before the brand either changes hands or joins pontiac and saturn in the grave of axed auto brands

I read that the wind down guys have been put on hold and haven't been given a start date.

Wrong. There have been near production cars running around for LONG time now. The 9-4x development is done. Unless they picked up a diesel from some other company that they are testing it with. The only reason the 9-4x isn't here now is because Caddy wanted the SRX on the market first.

Autoblog is reporting that it is not in production, that these are preproduction vehicles ment for testing and crash testing purposes. Which makes total sense.

In any case, im still praying for a Saab sale to Spyker!
