Rather excited to present my new website [kudos to my cousin, Ben, for help & expertise], which officially debuted today, 01/19/2015, 2 years & 1 month after I launched my Facebook page 12/19/2012:
www.oldcarsstronghearts.com

Posts originate from the page & are automatically publicized to Facebook:
https://www.facebook.com/OldCarsStrongHearts

For those not on FB, this gives a glimpse at what I’ve been crafting. I look forward to implementing a few more ideas rattling around in my brain & maybe even making a go of some self-employment ideas I’ve been brainstorming….

Across the top of the main page are links to pages I created, including playlists (etc.) from my radio shows many of you heard, as well as…

…OC,SH history:
http://www.oldcarsstronghearts.com/about/

…me & cars:
http://www.oldcarsstronghearts.com/me-cars/

…me & CHD:

Good luck with the website! I love that picture with the wagon in 1970 Rutland! I love seeing pictures of regular life from back in time, all the cars, the mall and how they've changed (a shop featuring Singer sewing machines, or the small movie theater). I wonder if the big anchor store on the right beginning with a "G" is Grants?
Hey knightfan!! Long time, no see. Glad to know you are back!
Congrats man, looking good!

(And yes I had visited the FB page, that's how I knew you had a new site coming!)
Nice website. I dig it!

Good to see you around!
Is your cousin looking for a job? - We could use someone with his talent/skills.

Ed, my cousin's wife is from Michigan, so he might consider uprooting his family to move there. However, he wants to know how much you'd pay him per day, per week & per month to host a website for you. He is only hosting the website for me. Because time is money, he needs to know ASAP. Glad you & Neanderthal appreciate my work!

It’s been a LONG time since I’ve been THIS excited about something … & it feels good! It’s cool to have a platform other than Facebook to showcase my talents.

I’ve been unemployed since February 2012, no income since September 2013 & almost out of $$. Hoping some self-employment considerations will work….

Remember my Nephew & Niece? They are now 6 & 2 respectively!

................. I’ve been unemployed since February 2012..................
I'm sorry, but I gotta ask................

Since February 2012:

1) How many applications have you filled out?

2) How many interviews have you gone on?

3) How many job offers have you turned down?

4) How many job offers have you accepted?

---------------------

I'll go first;

1) = 3

2) = 6 (with 3 different companies)

3) = 1

4) = 2

This is the most callow, spineless, cruel and insensitive comment I've read in the decade I've been visiting this site. You know nothing of the ordeal that Knightfan26917 has gone through not just in the past few years but since he was born. You don't deserve to breathe the same air as he. He's got more guts and tenacity in a drop of sweat than you'll have in your entire meaningless, feckless life.

And anybody supporting you is an even bigger coward...
Okay people, let's back away from our keyboards...

That's great, Cort! Here's to a healthy, happy, and prosperous 2015. Oh, and nice site, too.

Ed753, you are acting like a troll.

Because you know I all but offered him a job, but I couldn't even get him to give me his resume because "Michigan isn't a place I want to live".

Ever hear the phase about a horse and leading it to water?

If he doesn't want to work, after everything he has been through, I'm fine with that.

However, if that is the case, then he needs to stop pretending he does (unemployed since January 2012) and making people feel sorry for him.
Yes, Ed753, I DO know that you offered him a job. The fact that you REFUSED to take into consideration his exigent circumstances is specifically what makes your attitude so unacceptable.

Giving somebody gruff for not wanting to uproot their lives and move to another state isn't some sort of "cop out" — not to mention that it's not exactly cheap to move, and Cort's not exactly swimming in disposable cash. Moving is a major expense even for those WITH jobs. It's by no means an indication that somebody "doesn't want to work." Furthermore, Cort doesn't milk his misfortune for sympathy.

It takes a real man to bully the downtrodden.

If he didn't want to "uproot" then why was he planning a "6-State Road Show"?

Which when this 1st fell through, I was when I had the thought of starting a collection from all of us here to fund his trip, then I said wait a minute what is the goal a "road-trip" or a "job"?

I explained to him that I have good connections with a handful of auto industry companies (that I've worked at, never burning any bridges) as well as no less than a 1/2 dozen recruiters, that I've worked with; both "in search of" and "searching". This was also weeks before I was going to a 3-day conference in Marco Island, FL where I’d be with literally hundreds of my friend and colleagues. He showed little interest.

I can't pretend to be inside his head any more than you, and maybe I'm a ****ty motivator.

The guy claims to be unemployed for 3 years now, he's educated, has a myriad of work experience, and lives in the suburb of one of the largest cities in the country, and he can't find a job?

If the fact that I tried the heart-felt approach and got nowhere, and am now trying a bit more aggressive approach makes me a bad person in your eyes then so be it.

Suppose I could file this under “why didn’t I think of this before”, but instead of shipping parts sold, I am planning a road trip to deliver them … & job search, hoping a relocation will spark a more formidable change.

Planned road trip (starting late this or early next week) stops:
Chesterton & Fort Wayne IN
Sioux City IA area
Oklahoma City OK
Fort Worth TX
Cape Girardeau & O’Fallon MO
Nashville & Knoxville TN

Let me know if you’re interested in meeting along the way….

Parts to be delivered are those here:

Also, my pair of CCs are still for sale:

I have to presume you refer to me in your last sentence, since I gave an Ed post a like.

Since you don't appear to have the courage to name names, I deduce the above because I know some background and side with Ed here.

You might think you know a lot about a lot. But you have a lot to learn. About perhaps being manipulated, for starters.

Have a nice day! :)
