This is one of the things that's underappreciated about EVs. While a lot of the marketing is around 0-60, 10-40 or 20-50 or so is much more useful in real life for passing and emergency maneuvers, and EVs are quicker in that range than their 0-60 suggests. I looked at those intermediate ranges a few months back and remember some mainstream EVs being quicker than the likes of an M5 in that range.
Great point emh. To cite one example, Car and Driver recorded a 30-50 mph acceleration time of 2.8 seconds for Spark EV. Here's how that compares to some high performing gasoline powered cars:
  • 2021 Lexus LC500 Convertible: 2.8 s
  • 2015 VW GTI DSG: 2.9 s
  • 2016 Chevy Camaro LT V6 automatic: 3.1 s
  • 2019 BMW 330i xDrive (G20): 3.2 s

Nope. According to the genius Mktg Dept at GM, it should be 443. 馃槢

Shouldn't it be 400 since the genius marketing dweebs round to the nearest 100? Or do they round to the nearest 50, which would make it 450?

Ah, forget it. I'm sticking, literally and figuratively, to Neanderthal's suggestion and getting a 327 decal. :LOL:

You know they'd round it UP to 450. I mean its GM, right??!!!

Update February 22, 2021: Due to the wintry weather throughout the South from Baltimore down to Biloxi over the past couple weeks, shipment of Mrs. gkr778's Spark EV will be delayed until the second or third week of March.

I'll post a quick test drive review and impressions shortly after the car arrives.
