I was curious about something in my car. It has two cupholders in the front and it seems like one should have a rubber insert as cups seems to slide around in it. I see some on ebay some have this liner and some don't? Does anyone know what is up with it? It wouldn't think there is an option and I also see it on low end models and high end models having it with and without.

Here is mine:

And here is one from eBay:

I had a 2000 L-series with the same sort of setup. One day in college I parked the car and started walking into one of the building's on campus, and as I got into the hallway I looked down to see that the bottle I took out of the cupholder had the entire 2-cup liner stuck to the bottom of it. Had it fell, I would have not noticed and lost it forever. It was rather embarrassing. Maybe it simply got lost over time for those cars (and yours).

Forgot all about this.

This car was a "dealer demo" for it's first few thousand miles so I guess someone took it.

You wouldn't happen to know how much that part costs, would you?

Were you looking at different model years on Ebay? It may be just some good ole decontenting at work. If you really want it, try buying one on Ebay or go to a car dump to find one.

car dump?? that just sounds so wrong. bone yard, junk yard, scrap yard...but Car Dump!?geeez;)

sorry, back on topic

Go to your local friendly Chevy dealer. Hopefully you have a friend who works there and ask if they have any Malibu lease returns. Usually the sales manager will just give it to you at no charge.

Maybe they'll gain you as a customer in the future.

I actually have that insert sitting on my desk holding paper clips.

If you want it, just send me your address by PM and I'll send it to you at no charge.
