Which was designed first; the Lucerne or the Lacrosse?

Aside from the vaguely familiar wheel shape and liberal use of wood, you'd be hard pressed to work out that they are from the same stable.

Lacrosse looks better but they both need work. I'd be most satiffied with its interior over the Lucerne.

LaCrosse came out earlier, but they are on different platforms (LaCrosse on W, Lucerne on G). Looks-wise, I think the Lucerne is a more cohesive design, but having some of the design elements from the LaCrosse, pulled over a RWD platform would be nice (has a nice front fascia and good lines between the wheels, but is just out of proportion).

The interior's on both vehicles somewhat disappoint me, especially when comparing to the Enclave.

I'm still perplexed as to why we still put the 3800 into the LaCrosse, especially when we use the 3500 and 3900 in the Impala.

We don't want to confuse anybody with that annoying content stuff or anything.

I like it for what it is. I do not sweat about what it is not.

I have never gotten how Impala was well received and the car with a better ride, quieter interior, higher quality interior materials, more modern engine option (3.6L), and a longer warranty was Dead On Arrival.

To be honest...

price, lack of value compared to Impala, image, lack of cachet, better cars for just a bit more money, catering to an older demographic instead of targeting a youthful one (AKA: an old man will drive a young man's car but a young man will not drive an old man's car and sometimes an old man won't drive an old man's car!) Conservative styling, lack of advanced powertrain (3.6 aside), FWD platform on dated Chassis, forgetable rear end. Better car in Lucerne, Camry, Avalon, Azera, Sonata, Malibu 08, Sable/Taurus, Accord...

those are my honest thoughts. I don't hate the car, I actually like the looks of the Super exteriorly, but without continuous refinement, a dramatic noticable MCE, improved EVERYTHING COUPLED WITH A LACK OF MARKETING and you have your answer. Objectively in a vacuum, its a nice car but in this hypercompetitive environment, I believe the above stated cars are better cars with better value for a with 7,000 dollar price range of a LaX. I hope you love your car and it causes no problems. I know how you feel as people say the Cobalt SS has somewhat dated styling and a 'horrid' interior which isn't true and most have never driven the car anyways (much less can drive stick) but thats what they THINK and Type. As long as you like it thats what counts.

Cheers to enjoying the car you purchase. Enjoy your week-

Those are all true points you make with the exception of the price difference.

You are talking at most a $1500-$2000 premium compared to a comparably equipped Impala depending on your haggling skills and knowledge of what it actually costs.

Yes, I do like my vehicle a lot. I will probably throw some exhaust tips and factory spoiler on it by the end of the year to complete the look I want for it.

I personally like the LaCrosse interior better than the Impala's, but the 3900/4t65 combo works much better than the LY7/4t65 combo. I'm not a huge fan of the FE1 suspension, but I would have liked to see an LY7/6t70 with the FE3 or FE4 suspension. Design wise, it has much better design elements, but is not as cohesive as the Impala.

But it is indeed, a VERY solid car, with great build quality and good value.
Wow, that lineup is sad. Buick is basically dead until the new models arrive.
I...like how the LaCrosse looks. There, I said it. It's out there now and I can't take it back.

Will do.
On another note, it looks like the LaCrosse Super's foglight treatment is on at least the CXL model now too.

I don't think that's the case. The photo of the silver LaCrosse is the short-lived 2008 CXS model. GM loves to issue inaccurate press photos.
You mean CXS, the trim that does not exist anymore for LaCrosse?

Hmm, I will have to take a look next time I head into work. We may very well have had a very short run of CXS models late last summer, but I am unsure, to be honest. I'll find out for sure right after the two week break.

I agree. I liked the LaCrosse BEFORE its recent facelift.

Like HITMAN1970's car.

Thanks. I am sure that CTS of yours is a great ride.
