The All American pick was back. Ford, Chrysler, Chevrolet and GMC all introduced new trucks for 1982, downsized to beat the Japanese minis, and these trucks were good. The GMC S-15 was a masterful blend of GM style, comfort ad all American utility, a Malibu with a pickup bed if you will, same compliant ride same power assisted controls same V6 performance, same comfy interior decked out with every imaginable convenience...

What a shame that this isn't the direction that Total Recall Motors would go with their smaller than full-sized truck they just released - that awful bloated asian job is simply too large to add sales.
Impressive economy numbers. Anyone know if the S-15 had a different frame than a Chevrolet S-10? I'm impressed the S-15 could be upgraded to a 1,500lbs payload. Could the S-10 be optioned that way?
That may be Moraine Assembly in the video; not too sure since they re-configured it for GMT 360. Moraine Assembly is now being reconfigured to be partially used as a Fuyao Glass plant...Yep, Chinese.

I would say so. GM typically includes in the fine print "excludes other GM products" when bragging that one of the products has more of something. GM would have wanted both brands to have success with the newly launched S-twins (much like the 2015 Colorado/Canyon).

My dad had an '85 S10 with that puny 1.9L Isuzu built 4-cylinder. 82 HP? No wonder it felt weak. It was!
I actually believe the factory in the video was Janesville.
My Baja was built in Shreveport, when did this plant begin building S-10s?
According to Wikipedia (I know, don't remind me), Shreveport opened just for the assembly of the S-trucks. Janesville was building full size trucks until 1987.

Thanks!
