2019 ford is building 80 of these...lol
What the hell is 80 cars...
It probably cost less to build 80 of these cars..sell them off at 100 grand and with all the press actually gets some free publicity..
How could 80 cars built not sell at $100 grand...
80 people shouldn't be too hard to find who want those doors...
Should be a sell out...lol
Next headline in 2019..
New version of lincoln continental sells out in 3 days...
Does it matter that fords only building 80 examples at 100 grand each..ll?
No...in this world of fast news...
The headline is all that matters...
“Lincoln sells out its latest continental...”
EIGHTY CARS!
Continental is a Lincoln, only so many people looking for a ~$60K lage sedan, most Lincoln sales are SUV/CUV.You didn't answer my question. When will sales of the Continental rise, as you said they would, because of the existence of the Coach Edition?

The touchpads are there, steel wouldn't work...............
Are these moldings polished steel? Ebony? Obsidian?
Like I said before; "Revenue Generating Marketing Campaign".Lincoln spending an awful lot of time perfecting this limited edition design. They probably had to separate the door handles in the final design because they posed a "pinching" hazard. Glad to see a functional window, that looks much less compromised. The hinge went through a dramatic simplification here, looks like a conventional hinge compared to the bank-vault hinge it was using before.
I still think this is a ridiculous product from a mainstream perspective just because those rear doors are extremely difficult to use without some degree of automation. Otherwise you need a chauffeur to close the doors for you. I understand why this is a very limited edition. But they sold them all so they probably should have made more. I'm glad they did them. Turns out making special low-volume products is profitable after all.

It was a brilliant marketing campaign that generated almost [EDIT] 10 million dollars and can't help but sell more regular Continentals.
