That's different, I hope it Spurs sales.
I don't this is about volume, not even for the standard Continental. The truth is this is just a really cool gimmick that will garner plenty of, hopefully, positive press. This is in many ways to Lincoln what the Ford GT is to Ford, a very limited production halo car that with any luck raises the perception of the brand. One you tuber video..i think road show says 80 examples for 2019 at 100 grand for these suicide doors? And extended rear legroom for largest in class. 400 tt v6 power...
80 for regular doors...
I hope it spurs the continental into a sales success. Ford needs a passenger car win....or eventually they will just make trucks and the mustang
No modern Lincoln will ever look as svelte as the '60s Continentals. It's just simply not possible to mass produce such a vehicle with today's safety regulations.Hmmm.
Much ado about not much.
Personally, I don't think this car "wears" the "Coach" doors very well. It looks awkward-ish somehow. Maybe the real-world photos will look better. I hope they sell the number they want to. Even at that price I wonder if it represents a profit, considering how much time and money it took to create it.
There may be enough people out there that:
A: Love Lincolns and think the retro touch is great.
B: Will spend that much money to have one.
I think a lot of people were expecting these doors on a regular production vehicle, and not just a limited once-and-done specialty.
We get it, you don't like it as you've already talked crap about it on page 1. Are you going to talk crap again when page 3 gets started?Seriously this looksed tacked on and awful. You know you can get the same effect if you bring a Fusion to West Coast Customs and get suicide doors put on.
Continental is already a lackluster product adding "coach doors" (stupid name) isn't going to do anything.
It shouldn't even have 2 pages it's a lazy attempt at trying to be a luxury car. Could you imagine if Cadillac did anything this uninspiring? Everyone on this board would probably lose their ****.We get it, you don't like it as you've already talked crap about it on page 1. Are you going to talk crap again when page 3 gets started?
Oh, nope, guess I was wrong. You managed to cram 3 posts of Ford crap talking in 2 pages. It shouldn't even have 2 pages it's a lazy attempt at trying to be a luxury car. Could you imagine if Cadillac did anything this uninspiring? Everyone on this board would probably lose their ****.
So instead of adding options and making a version that will have a massive ATP bump, would you prefer that they just quit making it like the CT6? Is that what makes a luxury car, discontinuing it?It shouldn't even have 2 pages it's a lazy attempt at trying to be a luxury car. Could you imagine if Cadillac did anything this uninspiring? Unfortunately, Continental probably isn't too far behind in the cancellation department, but it has another 2-3 years before that happens..So instead of adding options and making a version that will have a massive ATP bump, would you prefer that they just quit making it like the CT6? Like I said earlier, your posts are comedic gold.
Maybe they should re-design those doors a bit and call them Homicide Doors. You know, they open when a pedestrian is picked up on the never-fail radar and a door pops open. BOOM!:fall:Continental will be gone soon but like CT6, at least it's going out with a bang.
Did I miss the press release where the CT6-V will be a bargain basement price tag?So instead of adding options and making a version that will have a massive ATP bump, would you prefer that they just quit making it like the CT6? Is that what makes a luxury car, discontinuing it?
I'm betting money that the proposed four-door Mustang has a hypothetical, more luxurious brother. A four-door, Mustang based Continental that is like a slightly larger 6-Series four-door coupe would pair well with a four-door pony and, realistically, would likely do reasonably well as a stand alone. Suicide doors would work well on such a car too. Though, it does strike me that in some ways that car would be more like a modernized late 60's Thunderbird sedan than any recent heritage Lincoln models.Unfortunately, Continental probably isn't too far behind in the cancellation department, but it has another 2-3 years before that happens..
You must have missed the press release that said they slashed the starting price of almost the entire CT6 lineup.Did I miss the press release where the CT6-V will be a bargain basement price tag?
Put down the cough syrup, nobody said anything about the CT6-V. Regardless the entire CT6 line is done in the US, that isn't something that is in dispute.Did I miss the press release where the CT6-V will be a bargain basement price tag?
