That is great news as at one point some said it had been canceled. This could be their new flagship for the limo trade, especially the variant with two rows of back seating vs. three. I can just imagine this thing in black with a deep burgundy interior. I hope it looks VERY close to the concept.

Cool! The MKT concept was great. I wonder if they'll release any pics of the production version along with the announcement? That would be nice.

There have already been Mules guised as a Ford Freestyle rolling around dearborn. I think the confirmation was a little pointless just because of that reason and people really did expect Ford to build this. Maybe they can trim some of the heft and the loaded msrp. CAr and Driver has complained about both of these in Flex. The loaded Limited Flex weigths 4400 lbs i think and it costs 43k fully loaded. That doesnt bode well for the beefed up lincoln versin which will have totally different panals and could push the top of the line model past 60k. gulp

The Saturn Outlook is around 4800 pounds AWD. The new Honda Pilot is 4540 AWD. The Audi Q7 V6 is 5000 pounds, and it's an inch and a half shorter than the Flex, the same height, and 2 inches wider.

4400 for a Flex isn't so bad.

The price could definitely be an issue though. The MKS is an extremely nice luxury car. But is it $8,000 nicer than a Taurus Limited? I don't know.

The freestyle mules are long gone and the MKT is ready to meet the world

Autoblog reported the MKT would have a next gen nav unit and parking assisstance. However, the Ford-released article states none of that. Is it wishful thinking on Autoblog's part? :brick

Is this next gen nav unit the one in the MKS/Flex?

I don't know about the nav, Seth
but the MKS already has rear sensing/parking assist STANDARD on the BASE model,
Forward Sensing optional as part of the TechnologyPkg (& of course the UltimatePkg),
plus the rear camera as part of the NavigationPkg (& ditto Ultimate)
so
I can't see the MKT not having the same assortment

remember this post?

I think it will, Lincoln is really trying to perfect the self parking system, i just wonder if they can execute it and make it a viable option

Shnikeys! That's one hot-looking wagon! Lambdas beware!
This makes the Enclave look soooo good. Not that it was uly or anything, but i just shows how good the new buicks look.

And to someone elses comment, i believe they would pass on a vehicle like this size just because it looks like a pre dated lambda. Maybe gm could do a tall wagon on the epsilon II?
