LG Chem, a key supplier for the soon-to-be-released Chevrolet Bolt, firmly expects General Motors to sell more than 30,000 of the BEV next year.

According to Reuters, LG Chem Vice President Kang Chang-beom made the statement earlier today during the firm's third quarter earnings conference call.

With the imminent launch of the Bolt, General Motors has won the race to offer the first long range, affordable, mass market BEV in the United States. With an estimated 238 miles of range on tap, acres of visibility, and cargo space in spades, Chevrolet is hoping the Bolt will become a popular staple in urban centers long before Nissan's updated Leaf and Tesla's sometime soon Model 3 arrive.

The base Bolt LT will start at $37,495 -- $29,995 after a federal tax credit available to many shoppers.
