Are there any worse ways to ship something? Perhaps burning endangered species to make jet fuel?

Oh well. It was some marketing guy's idea, not an engineer I'm sure

Although I do not think someone who is that rich needs a vehicle like that given to him, but they sponsored one of his tours and as such they rewarded him for publicizing them. That I can understand.

The thing I really do not like seeing is people criticizing Paul McCartney for it when it was most likely Lexus who decided to fly it to him. I am sure the jet was not chartered just to fly over the car. It was most likely a cargo jet and that was only one of many pieces of cargo on it. Sorry to tell them but UPS, Fedex, and a number of other international shippers fly cargo overseas on a daily basis instead of shipping by ocean freight.

I don't blame McCartney so much as Toyota for trying to come off as so green, but doing just the opposite with a $160,000 car that won't sell in any sort of volume to affect any real environmental change. Kind of reminds me of those celebrities who jet set all around the world (many not on commercial flights) expounding on the benefits of "going green" because of all the "global warming out there." Yeah, ummm, okay...Except that the environmental energy consumed by just one plane on one flight leg, including all the efforts that support it like baggage handling, plane maintenance, fuel delivery, etc., does more damage to the environment than a Hummer does in its lifetime. You hear me Leonardo DiCaprio?!?!?! Goes to prove most of what they do is just markeitng hype that the enviro-talkers eat up in spades.

Is'nt the Lexus LS600h a phony environmental car? If he wanted to make a true environmental statement he should have gotten a Prius.
The Prius is overrated because of the impact it makes pre-production and post-use (not very recyclable). Isn't the environmental payback period for this vehicle like 11 years?! Who usually owns and drives a car this long? Not to mention those who own one usual own others cars, which kind of offsets any gain.

How about McCartney just walk or use the subway to be a real environmentalist? Driving and parking in England is horrendous. Maybe he can sopt touring the world on a private jet while he is at it. Usually the ones who talk the most environmental trash usually produce the most too. :) :) :)

No, the environmental payback period for this car is 102.6 years. Better buy the extended warranty.

He never claimed to be an environmentalist, he's vegan, against poverty (who isn't?), he's against landmines and seal hunting but nowhere in his biography does he state that he's anti-car or pro-environment.

Paul McCartney Criticized for Flying Hybrid Car to EnglandWhy?

Toyota shipped the car, McCartney didn't, and it was a gift from Toyota...why is McCartney being criticized for what someone else did? Those environmentalists are giving eco-friendly people a bad name.

Didn't lexus stated they used the electric motor's to boost the car's performance so they can go head to head with German V-12's? So really in that sense can it be really called a Green hybrid? or a performance Hybrid?

I'm not sure I understand why this car even exists. There isn't much of a point for it. It doesn't do anything well does it?

Because of the little, chorme 'h' on the end of the trunk. It gives Toyota another 'hybrid' point, nothing more. It's stupid and a waste of time/money/materials. Youth is wasted on the young? Fine, but money is wasted on the rich. Idiots.
