Chevy has announced that the upcoming TrailBlazer SS will get a 6.0L V-8 making "at least 375 hp." Expect a Gen IV version of the current Vortec 6000, not a de-tuned LS2, and unless something is terribly wrong, the Silverado SS will likely get "at least 375 hp" as well.

I can check back on the truck news here, they already had a run a couple months back for the 05 Silverado SS and Denali Club Cab just to see how things went. In that newsletter the changes were indicated and if memory serves me right the same LQ9 engine was used for the 05 SS Silverado. If a different engine or anything modified on that engine was going to be used then that would have been included in those pilot runs. I'll check back when I get home.
Why would they not start using the LS2 yet?
Does the Corvette always get a year with the
new motor design before any other models do?
Here is an Exlclusive GMI Article about the Silverado SS's new form:
GMI Exclusive Article

Here is a post a WHILE WHILE back (July 2nd, 2003 to be exact) that was started about a blown 6000 Series V-8, not the LS2 in the above article, as you can see we had it here a while ago...

No one is claiming anything. And if you don't like GMI, don't post here.

There was old news that was before the other article, what credit is there to post. If you actually read the other post you could tell that to credit was attributed to GMI.

Well I think something is terribly wrong then because they already built some 05 SS's and the 6.0 LQ9 345 HP was used. :(

Ya know what....

When you run a site that does half the traffic my "illegitimate" does, you can run your mouth. Matter of fact when you run a site that has nearly 10,000 members, or keeps 70-100 people online most of the working day then you have something to be proud of. Hell, when you run a forum that someone can view three pages without getting Access database error message you can talk ****. Untill then you need to just simmer down and get your b***s out you throat. Fact is with out your few "insiders" who talk in your ear because they don't wanna be fired, you know NOTHING.

Last I checked I had to warn you once already for soliciting members through our email system.....not to mention that you used that fact that you were an administrator here to get your position you have with another site.

I am tired of you talking BS and then getting on your high horse and being like "Let it die, and let's be professional". How dare you say that when you are tell bold face BS about a site I worked damn hard to build. I have extended the olive brance many times, and you keep on burning it.

So I am saying basically,

1. As to the "illegitimate" comment, quite fankly you can kiss my a$$

2. I like Cheers and Gears as a site, and it as some great posters, but as long as Walt allows clowns like Josh to run it, and moderators to act like sherrifs in the wild west, it will never grow or have a decent atmosphere.

I know might seem a bit harsh, but I won't be insulted on my own site.

Well said.

But what is the story on the SS, wasn't it supposed to be getting some more power to compete with the other Uber trucks?

No, so far same engine as 04 and time is winding down. If they are to make any changes they should have done it already. Only 5 more months and the 05's will start assembly.
I don't think GM is trying to compete with the uberram and lightning. The SS Silverado is a totally different kind of truck. It's more like a regular, useable truck on steroids, whereas the Uberram and Lightning are more like sports cars that ate waaaaaaaaay too much chocolate.
