I can't tell if the references to "2010" is calendar or model year. A link to an authoritative reference would be nice, too.
iS the Cruze coming to the U.S. in calendar year 2009 or calendar year 2010?

I have gathered that it is CY 2010, MY 2011 for the U.S., but I don't have proof.
I hope it gets here ASAFP, I would seriously consider one depending on how my car is doing when it gets here.

Correct, Cruze will be out next summer for Europe, then early 2010 as a 2011 model in America and Canada.
IMO, sell Hummer for 2 billion, use some of that to push Cruze foward to next summer.

That's too long of a wait if you ask me. But being that it'll be my next car, I have time to save up.
Doesn't mention a year specifically, but Bob Lutz said that Cruze won't be coming to the US anytime soon.
"In more unfortunate news, the Chevrolet Cruze, set to debut in Paris and sold in Europe next year, won't be replacing the Cobalt in the U.S. anytime soon. Lutz maintains that the current Cobalt is "no where near the end of its life-cycle" and that it's "finally coming into its own" in the U.S. market. When the Cruze does debut, expect an interior that's a cross between the Cobalt and the Malibu, and powered by a turbocharged 1.4-liter four-pot that will get 40+ mpg."
