Well, didn't they say that they were working on a MT option for the Colorado?

http://blog.caranddriver.com/2015-chevrolet-colorado-gifts-the-work-crowd-a-six-speed-manual/

Weird that it was on that specific truck without an announcement, though...
They amended the press release shortly after Colorado's reveal that 2.5L WTs could be ordered with a manual.

Seems like they're pretty rare though. I was surprised when I looked inside this truck.
Too bad it isn't available with the V6.

Have you drove the 3.6 in the Camaro with the manual? It's a blessing it's not in a truck. Embarrassment to all manuals.
I'm half tempted to buy a four banger just for the manual.
The manual should be available with every trim level that offers the 2.5... There's no reason it can't at least be available with a vehicle that offers more options... Oh, and offer it on the GMC Canyon too, on which I believe it's not available at all...

There is a Canyon, the SL trim, as well as the "CANYON" trim (no designation) in 2WD, extended cab only that come with the manual 6 speed.

Every drivetrain permutation has to be emissions and pollution tested and certified. That costs money. Adding options with a very low potential take rate would be a poor business decision. I'm really surprised there's any manual option. Not only did the certification cost money, but there's unique parts that cost money to design and produce. Can't imagine the take rate is going to be high enough to justify those, unless they were able to use international market pieces.

I had an 07 colorado with the ecotec 4,and the 5 spd manual. It shifted like $h!t going forward, and getting it into reverse was always a challenge.I wonder if they are using the same trans?

I think that's how GM wants it.

For real. But, to read what some previous posters have said, it would be a bad idea. I had a '97 S10 2wd with the 4.3/5-speed combo & that was tons of fun. I guess GM got even cheaper when building the first gen Colorados/Canyons, hence the gripes about the manual.

My current beater/winter ride is a high mileage '98 S10 2wd with the 4.3/5-speed combo that remains tons of fun. I will test drive a new 4 cyl Canyon with the manual just to compare. HP is similar.

The Aisin AY6 unit? Yup, I've driven a Camaro with that transmission; it definitely isn't among the better manual transmissions I've experienced.

2015 Colorado/Canyon manual transmission is the Eaton N8D. So you are blessed. ;)

I've been trying to find the info for the C/C twins. Thanks for that.
The manual transmission is a thing of the past and it's a good thing. One of the worst experiences I've ever had was driving my brother's 07 Mustang GT 5 speed in bumper to bumper traffic in L.A. - that soured me on ever owning a vehicle with a manual transmission.

Lulz.

I've owned a manual for the past 6 years baring a short stint with a G8 GT. Only time I hated owning a manual was when I didnt own one.

Some markets are better for manuals and if you live in a city like LA you are just begging for issues driving any type of car. Its just a pitiful place to drive, automatic or manual.

AGREED. I went so far as securing a winter beater with a stick just so I didn't have to suffer without one during snow & ice season. I do wish factory auto start would be offered with the manual but I doubt that GM will allow that to happen.
Well that's interesting.
Knowing that you'd be aware of the MT Colorado, I was staring at the picture looking for some kind of rodent, a pair of women's underwear hidden under the seat, or a missing switch or button.

My town just ordered two Colorado pickups with 4 cylinder motors. They paid around $21,000 each for them.

Driving his Mustang when we lived in Las Vegas was not a problem and I drove a 5 speed Toyota pickup for a job here in Colorado but driving that arcane obsolete piece of garbage in L.A. traffic beat any love of manual transmissions right out of me.
