Hi guys its not too often i get to shoot Asian cars but right after i shot the commemorative vettes at the chrysler museum i stopped by at Oakland University to see if i could shoot some of the cars that will be displayed at the Concour De Elegance this weekend. While there was not any cool classics there I did see some Hyundai Genesis models (first time I've seen one) and stopped and took a few shots before i went home enjoy

Still don't like the sedan.
Coupe looks decent though.

But I'm still interesting in seeing what the turbo I4 in the coupe can do, also the new v6.. to my understanding they're not using the "beta" engine any more.

Should be an excited cheap car.

GMfan1111,

I think the car looks okay. I have no objection to owning a Hyundai, and the car really has an impressive set of options and technological features.

Oh ok the problem is fixed Like i said my computer decided to act up when i wrote the original thread (thus the duplicates) and I didn't have anytime until today to fix it sorry again admins. As for the car itself I like the overall look of it but the Big Italicized H in the back ruins the otherwise classy look that the exterior has

It looks very good for a Hyundai until you see the front end. That grill is very strange-looking. Hyundai must be proud of it considering how they have priced it. I think you can get a V8-powered G8 for around the same money as a V6 version of a Genesis.

Yes.

When Hyundai announced the Genesis in January, the plan was for a base price under $30,000 and a base 3.3 liter engine with a six speed automatic making 264 horsepower. I was expecting a $29,000 starting price for a vehicle just as fast as the G8 V6 in a straight line, a little less agile in the curves, and better on gas.

Instead, the base engine is a 290 horsepower 3.8 liter V6 for $32,000 and the V8 ( which naturally comes with many optional features on the V6 trim as standard ) is $38,000.

A loaded Genesis offers a decent set of luxury features that you can't get in the G8 plus a slightly bigger cabin and more or less equal trunk. But at the bottom end, I think a lot of people might prefer a G8 V6 or G8 GT to a Genesis V6.

Right you are, Sal. H-cars, Inc. are shooting for the Luxo-soft rider market...
I still like the Pontiac's lines better.
The G8 is a great looking car. I love the design. In a sporty kind of way. If I were in the market for a great bargain on a big, sporty car - it would either be a Chrysler 300C or a G8. Not an easy choice for me, personally - because I really like them both.. If I were in the market for a reasonable luxury car, I'd pick the Genesis....

You mean the 3 people (other than regular visitors to GM fan sites) who know the G8 exists.

If you add the Premium package to the G8 GT, you get every single feature on the base Genesis except for Homelink Universal Remote for exactly $1000 less MSRP plus the G8 GT has much more power and torque, OnStar, and remote start.

A nicely optioned Genesis has a number of features that flat out aren't available on the G8. But at the bottom end, I think the G8 is the clear winner.

Fair point. I think the Genesis benefits from much better advertising.
