How Many Oldsmobile Diesel Cars Were Bought in 1985?
Exactly how many Oldsmobile diesel V-6 and V-8 powered cars were bought in 1985? I do understand there could not have been many sales that year, especially for the seven-year-old V-8 version whose mechanical reputation was by then all but dead in the water. These sales would not have applied to the state of California, who outlawed the option in 1984 for emissions reasons.
According to a December 1984 news article about the future of the Olds diesel, only the V-6 version was being produced in Lansing at the time that article was printed.

all I can add is we had a NEW 1984 Caprice estate car with the diesel in it bought NEW in California
it was that car + my mothers Honda that my grand parents bought nothing but imports from then on and the DIESEL WAS NOT the issue but the car it was in!!!

I know, but what I mean is how many were spoken for that year in the B/C/D series starting September 1984?The 5.7L V8 was available on the full size line in 1985.
