Does anyone know Approx. How many Chevrolet Bisons 1977-80 and Chevrolet TITAN 90(LATER ,TITAN) 1970-80 Were produced by GMC TRUCK & COACH? and if after chevy dropped out in 1980 of the heavy class 8 market were there any chevy branded rigs of this class beyond 80'?i.e.special order?
If Im not mistaken the bison should be pretty rare, Ive seen three in my life that i Recall, A rig, And two dump trucks here in miami. and titans im not sure, but astro 95(gmc 1969-87) and General/General 5-star (1976?77-88) i have. Including the Big Bunk (kind of aerodyne window sleeper like in smokey & bandit 2). I have 3 books, that if anyone is interested have some info but does not shed light , GMC TRUCKS 75 YEARS- GUNNELL,98, CHEVROLET TRUCK ENCYCLOPEDIA ,And Gmc Heavy Duty Trucks 1927-87(all black and white). would like info, especially ex-GMC coach employees.

No idea on production, but I think I remember Chevy was about 20% of GM's total heavy truck production in any given year. 1980 was the last model year for the Chevy Bison (GMC General), Bruin (GMC Brigadier), and Titan (GMC Astro 95). Most of the Chevy heavy truck franchised dealers sold GMC's starting in 1981, so I doubt any Chevy branded heavy trucks were sold after 1980.
