So on Saturday I went to the Detroit show (I have all the pictures uploaded, I just need to make a giant picture thread now), and I visited the Genesis display and found that they had two G90s available for people to sit in. People were interested in "Genesis" and the G90 and G80 (current Hyundai Genesis) had people looking at them and checking them out.
First off, this car doesn't photograph well at all. In person, proportions look very nice, the car has smooth flowing lines, and it has a nice presence overall. It doesn't look like an amorphous blob in person like you'd think it would looking at pictures of it.
Moving onto the interior, throw out EVERYTHING you know about the Equus and the Hyundai company in general; this car means business. Leather is soft, abundant, and supple, virtually everything that you can touch is covered in either leather, metal, or wood, and the attention to detail is fantastic. Even the headliner feels fantastic and of very high quality. The back seat is huge, roomy, and everything is high quality.
People can complain about how it looks like [INSERT BRAND HERE] and the interior is a rip off of [INSERT BRAND HERE], [INSERT BRAND HERE], and [INSERT BRAND HERE], but there's no denying how good of a car this is, and how well thought out it is in general. This car is a winner, and I came away really impressed. Brands like Cadillac, Lincoln, and Infiniti really need to watch their backs. This car is a real threat to them, and depending on how it's priced and how the Genesis dealership experience works (it is supposed to share a showroom with Hyundai), the brand could really flourish in the United States. Genesis, well done. The G90 is a great car.
Oh, and before anyone asks, yes, this car's interior absolutely blows the CT6's away.
